There are few pipe lining companies as dedicated to advancing the industry as Coreline Pipes. Their team extends trenchless pipe lining service throughout South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska.
Owner Trenton Wollman is passionate about being one of the best in pipe restoration. One of his favorite scenarios is taking pipes deemed “unfixable” and rehabilitating them via innovative plumbing technologies.
A Hospital In Critical Condition
A service call from a South Dakota hospital/nursing home proved to be an especially rewarding case. Wollman explains, “They were told the pipes weren’t able to be lined, basically, they couldn’t be saved and the building would have to undergo significant demolition and downtime for pipe replacement and repairs.”
With all situations, Coreline’s goal is to get the pipes restored with minimal disruption to the building but with elderly and health-compromised residents, it was imperative for this facility to remain operational as much as possible. When there’s an immediate need like that, some people act from their expertise along with their human goodness. Trent and team were up for the challenge and set out to get the hospital the very best results.
“The first step is always a thorough video camera inspection of the lines,” Wollman clarifies. “We inspect at every stage to monitor the conditions of the pipes.”
The initial inspection showed a two-foot hole in one of the building’s original cast iron pipe lines. In addition, they detected an obstruction caused by a foreign object. Within the hospital’s lines, Coreline’s technicians used robotic and mechanical equipment to remove a previous plumber’s cables that were lost during an attempt to clear a blockage.
Wollman reports that it’s not uncommon to find plumbing instruments lodged inside both residential and commercial pipe lines. It’s yet another reason to contact a qualified contractor beginning any plumbing project.
Once the cables were removed and the lines were cleared of additional debris and buildup, a repeat video inspection revealed that the hospital’s pipes were indeed candidates for pipe lining.
The Coreline team was able to structurally restore the failed pipes by installing continuous cured-in-place pipe lining, followed by robotic reinstatements of 19 branch lines. The results? Minimal disruption to the hospital/nursing home’s residents and staff with only eight hours of water shutoff!
The pipelining rescue was a tremendous relief for the facility that now has many years of reliable drainage to look forward to. And it was a personal victory for Coreline pipes to know they helped the hospital avoid weeks or months of displacement and service interruption.
Wollman has dozens of stories that demonstrate the overwhelming benefits of choosing trenchless pipe lining over conventional pipe replacement. That’s why Coreline Pipes continues to dive deep into technological advancements within the industry.
Bringing Customers The Latest Lining Technology
A recent example of state-of-the-art improvements is with UV (Ultra-Violet) light curing systems. The pipe lining pros looked closely at several options and ultimately opted to purchase the UVRelining system which reduces curing (hardening) times by up to 500% and has zero resin waste.
The UV system cuts water/toilet downtime for customers, fast-tracks project completion, and is more ecologically sound than other curing methods, although pipe lining in general is much greener than pipe replacement. Coreline’s investment in UV technology is a big win for its customers in residential, commercial, or industrial properties.
Going Above And Beyond
It should come as no surprise that this company holds high standards and subsequently boasts many affiliations and certifications such as a General Contractor’s License, CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) certification, Confined Space certification, and OSHA certification.
Coreline Pipes focuses on pipe diameters of 1.5” to 10”. They avoid digging trenches, offer hydro-jetting, and install lining with a streamlined continuous inversion method.
